Caste Based Reservation in India.

The caste system has been part of Indian society for almost 2000 years this system is so complicated and extremely rigid to fight with it is tough challenge. While discussing about it to remain unbiased is almost impossible, I want to address some of the important fact regarding my background so that if there is any bias reflected in this article the reader can judge it accordingly. So come from the Brahmin background and my family is middle class family. I don't get any reservation in any form.  Reservation based on caste: The reservation based on caste was idea emerged around 1930s and the first reservation was allowed in 1933 with the Poona pact between Gandhi and Ambedkar, Ambedkar demanded the separate electorate for the SCs and ST community , while Gandhi believed that giving separate electorate will create divide among the Hindus and there was already divide among the Hindus and Muslims and Gandhi did not wanted any other divide so they allowed the   reservation of lower cas

Health Inequalities : The Uttar pradesh

The NFHS the national family and health survey 2019-2021 talks about the information on population, health and nutrition level of people of India. Today we will talk about the current health situation of most populous state of India: Uttar Pradesh. The data was collected in the two phases, interviewing around 70000+ households, 90000+females and 12000+ males.

Areas where state has improved:

The State has improved the health of its citizens and has provided education to its citizens. The state has improved in the female education meaning how many young women are going to school has improved from 63% in last survey to 67.4% this time, meaning more women are getting education in the state of up. Compared this to the whole of India is still low where 71.8% women above the age of 6 years are getting education. The sex ratio of the total population has also improved where in the last survey there were 995 females per 1000 males. Now there are 1017 female are there per 1000 men meaning there are more women in Uttar Pradesh than women. This we can also see in whole of India where now there are more women in India than men. This has happened first time in India after it got independence. But the area of concern here is that there are only 961 females per 1000 males in the urban area, this is the shocking result. The perception is that there will be more women in city than in the rural area. But the NFHS finds that In Uttar Pradesh there are less women in urban areas and more in rural area. This is the area of concern for the state of UP. The fertility rate of up has decreased from 2.7% to 2.4% this is not the drastic change but a slight improvement. But still up has lot to improve regarding this subject. While the state's fertility rate has decreased to 2.4% but is still higher than the national average being 2.0%. while another area of concern is woman's ratio at the birth is less only 941 females per 1000 male so in future it may happen that the sex ratio may decrease so government should keep in mind this also.

The concern areas:

The children who are anemic between the age of 6-59 months has increased to 66.4% from 63.2 % last year meaning the children that are born have less hemoglobin. Meaning that the children that are born now have worst health than before it should be reverse because our health system is improving every year but health of our citizens is getting worse. Also, the obesity rate has increased in both man and woman This is the area of concern meaning that people are not living healthy lifestyle and government should do something to improve it

In conclusion I would say Uttar Pradesh has improved its education, woman empowerment and health as compared to the last survey but it is still below the average of india.so it has lot to improve in various fields to match the India's Average.
